Warren Pieces: Student Film

John Egan, Director, Cameraman & Editor

When asked to do a media piece with a community partner, I knew the High Fives Fat Ski-A-Thon was coming up quickly, so my plan was to document the ski-a-thon. However, once I showed up, I had to help setup, make sure the event ran smoothly, and ensure no one got hurt, so I missed my opportunity to film. My backup plan was to contact my boss from Warren Pieces, Whitney Phillips. We scheduled a meeting and I was able to interview him about the company’s brief history and how the skateboards are made. It took multiple takes, but once we figured out what worked, the shots were easy to weave into a clean, and polished video.
