Not Out of the Woods Yet…

Not+Out+of+the+Woods+Yet...

Harwood has an old pink gravel track that is sandy and has grass growing in many places on it, it is because of these poor conditions that students at Harwood decided to attempt to raise enough money to build a track in the woods. Unfortunately they were not able to build the track in the woods due to government and state regulations and the new softball field but the money that was raised will be used to improve the current track and field equipment. This was what we were hoping to raise enough money for,  a beautiful track running through a natural environment. The students and parents that were in charge of the fundraising were not able to gather all the money we needed in order to fulfill our goal (I’m not criticizing them.), the funds will be used to fix our track, which is, in many Vermont students opinion, the “third worst track in the state” and is a poor quality track because of resource allocation and overall funding. The state of the track at Harwood is not up to par, but hopefully with the money raised we will be able to fix up the track.  The track has weeds growing all over it, a broken discus cage, a jumping pit full of rocks, and very dated throwing equipment. The track team has always worked hard to prepare the track for meets and it will be helpful for them to have a semi professional area to practice and perform.

These are pictures of our current track equipment.
