Girls Varsity Soccer Semifinals Wrap Up

The varsity girls soccer semifinal game was hard fought but ended in a 1-3 loss for the Highlanders against Rice Memorial High School.

The game started off with a goal from Rice at 31:41. Rice scored once again at 28:32 and then finally at 14:08. Emma Ravelin scored the first and last Harwood goal during the second half with 9:24 left on the clock.

With so many shots on the Rice goal throughout the first half, the girls have to give their goalie props for some great goaltending. The support from the crowd for Harwood didn’t stop even after the buzzer sounded. Endless love and support for the team was thrown from students, staff and especially parents. This is sure to be a season to be remembered by some of the younger players and we’re sure team captains Tanum Nelson and Rubi Murphy won’t forget it soon either.

“Obviously the season didn’t end the way we hoped,” said Murphy. “But as a team we grew a lot this year and this team was very fun, we all showed up for each other and it was filled with people I wanted to surround myself with. I wish them luck and can’t wait to watch them play and grow and go far in the future.”

We also wish the younger players luck in their future seasons and the senior players luck in all their future endeavors.
