The Harwood field hockey team had a great season this year! They played every game to the very end with intensity and truly played for one another. Toward the end of the season, the team came together with their offensive momentum.

Thursday, October 28th, the Harwood field hockey team, which was seeded 6th, made the trip to Newport to play the #3 seed (North Country) in the quarterfinals. It was a nail-biting game with high energy. When Harwood came out on top with a 1-0 upset to head to the semifinals, the team was ecstatic. The following Tuesday, their season ended in Lyndon as they lost a hard-fought game 2-0.

This year, the team had nine seniors, five of whom have been playing together for the past six years. “We go into every season with the goal to win a playoff game,” senior captain Maggie Aiken said. “This year, our senior year, to be able to pull that off and cause an upset was beyond rewarding, and I am so proud to be a part of this team.” Although the team may be losing a handful of seniors, their season for next year is looking great, as sophomore Kate Wilksmen was a strong presence in goal this year. Wilksmen was able to protect the goal with confidence and poise, as well as control her defense.

Congratulations on an amazing season!
