Bernie Sanders is running for President? Bernie Sanders kicks off his Campaign in Burlington Tuesday. This campaign was held on the banks of Lake Champlain. He ran the event in an unorthodox manner. Mr. Sanders ran it like a festival, bands played, and of course, there was free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. This event drew what appeared to look like a “number in the thousands.” Mr. Sanders did this to demonstrate that he could make a campaign for the presidency without courting the billionaires upon which most of the leading contenders will be dependent.

In a thirty-five minute speech Sanders said, “We stand here and say loudly and clearly that enough is enough! This great nation and its government belong to all of the people, and not to a handful of billionaires.” Mr Sanders also pledges to deliver $1 trillion jobs and infrastructure program. Bernie Sanders is also hoping to get three billion supporters and see if they will donate $100 dollars each. “We’re not going to raise $2 billion, and we’re not going to raise $1 billion,” said Mr. Sanders, who added that he did not intend to use the help of a Super PAC, “I do not have millionaire or billionaire friends.”

Who is running for president? For the Democrats: Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O’Malley. For the Republicans: Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson,Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, George Pataki, and Lindsey Graham, which shows how more Republicans are in the field. Republicans might have a wider array of views to share but it’s too early to know how the primary will turn out. Both parties have a few people who may join the race for presidency, so the field is not 100% set.
