An Interview With Dominic Scaglione

I interviewed Dominic Scaglione about this year’s rifle season. He has been hunting for six years and has been successful in the past. He learned how to hunt from his mother. He hunts  deer for the taste of the venison and as family tradition. He thinks there will be more deer reported this year than last year. Dominic likes to weigh his deer at the Village Grocery when he gets one.

Dominic believes that new hunters should look for deer signs in the area they’re hunting in, to look for things such as scrapes and rubs, and trails made earlier in the year. Early morning, around 5:00 a.m., is the best time to go out, and using trail cameras are a good way to get an idea of what’s in the area. Dominic suggests not to get discouraged if you’re a new hunter and didn’t see anything this year, because you will eventually get one.
