Arvad’s Grill & Pub closed it’s doors and covered it’s windows and renovated. According to Vtdigger.org, Jeffrey Larkin, the owner of Arvad’s, says the pub closed because it needed “more than just a coat of paint; the whole process from atmosphere to menu to kitchen has been looked at and overhauled. It’s an evolution for the future of our business.” Larkin also added, “We have a really good product here – great food and a great staff.”

After reading this comment I would have expected a better experience. I didn’t have to wait long to be seated which was great. It was the service after that point, that started to decrease in quality. The host poured me a glass of water and walked away. Then she came back to bring the menus, which were a poor quality of cardboard with the few options printed on it. The menu used to have many more options, but now Arvad’s offers burgers, salads, and steak primarily. The wine list had more pages than the menu itself.

I ordered a bacon burger with fries. When the food arrived, it was not a large portions, though it was filling. My burger arrived without bacon, which I ate anyway. The fries were small, but tasted excellent. Later that day, I heard from a friend that the fries were “all you can eat” which I was never informed about by my waitress. Once I was done my meal, I wanted to try the cheesecake, so I ordered the salted caramel cheesecake which wasn’t the best cheesecake I’ve ever had but it wasn’t the worse. All in all, my experience was okay. The prices were a little expensive. In the end, I give Arvad’s Grill & Pub a three out of five stars. It’s an okay place food-wise with less than stellar service.
