On Wednesday, November 15th, Harwood held the second sports meeting of the year for the winter sports program. The auditorium was filled with the chatter of many Harwood families.
Ian Fraunfelder and Danni LaFlamme presented on Sportsmanship, Mental and Physical Health throughout the Winter season, Communication with your Coaches, and much more.
One of the main takeaways from the meeting was how important sportsmanship is for students, parents, and fans. What does sportsmanship look like? According to Fraunfelder and Laflamme: supporting your team, but not talking down to the other.
After the presentation ended, student athletes broke off into their sports and went to separate locations to discuss practice schedules, individual needs, and how the seasons are going to be set-up.
Although students were not required to attend, most attendees were joining a team for the first time. The event provided families with all the information they need to know about their sport so they know what to expect for the beginning of the season.
Winter sports practices will begin Monday, November 27th. Make sure you are signed up!
