Waterbury is a meeting place for many Highlanders to go out to eat,to hang out with friends in a restaurant or to go on a date. This is mostly due to its variety of restaurants; in this town you can find almost any food and price range you could think of, from burgers, sandwiches and pizza at McGillicuddy’s or Stone’s Throw, to a nicer meal at Hen of the Wood. However, after asking students and staff from the Harwood community, we’ve learned that The Reservoir is the best restaurant in Waterbury.
Commonground compared results of our survey and spoke with Highlanders to find out what makes The Reservoir to be the most chosen restaurant in Waterbury by the Harwood community, and seeing different opinions about this topic. After reading this article you will be well-informed on your dining choices in Waterbury.
A few weeks ago, 30 random members of the Highlander community were asked about their favourite restaurant in Waterbury. BlackBack Pub, McGuillicuddy’s and KC Bagels were on top of the list with approximately 7 votes each, however, the winner turned out to be The Reservoir by far, with 21 votes.
“It has a good atmosphere and pretty decent food compared to the other restaurants in Waterbury” tells junior Sarah Burmester about The Reservoir, “ I also like that it’s divided in two sections, one for dining and eating, and the other one for hanging out and playing pool.”
Located in 1 S Main St, Waterbury, VT, The Reservoir was established in 2009 to celebrate the emerging craft beer of Vermont and beyond, while serving a fresh, creative and fresh menu, which includes a great variety of food: sandwiches, burgers, salads and steak are only a few of the options that the restaurant offers.
“The fries are the best!” said Burmester “I would also recommend the veggie burger”
Even though it has been proved by Harwood that The Reservoir is the best restaurant in Waterbury, you might also consider the other most voted options. Junior Jan Martin recommends his favorite restaurant, Prohibition Pig, to meat lovers. If you are looking for “boomb” bagels, Sophomore Camille Edgecomb will suggest you stop at KC Bagels.
Even though Waterbury has proved to have outstanding restaurants, the Harwood community recommends you not to miss The Reservoir, where you can not only have great food but also hang out with your close people and spend a great evening there.
