On Friday December 8th at 2:25, Harwood Student Body and Faculty all piled into the gym to watch volunteers from each grade level compete against each other in the showdown to see who would play the staff members in the final round.
Tensions were high, and the atmosphere was filled with anticipation as everyone took their seats and awaited the first game.
Middle School had a disappointing game versus freshmen, with the freshmen quickly defeating them. Games were 6 minutes long, with 6 players on at a time and subs rotating in. The freshmen then went on to defeat 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.
While being beaten by the freshmen was somewhat humiliating for the other grades, the overall atmosphere during and after the game was very positive.
Staff then played a valiant game against the freshmen, with some spectacular plays, but ultimately the 9th grade emerged victorious, winning spirit points for their grade. The game was put on by the Student Government, and was a great way to keep morale high as the winter break draws closer.
