Junior Taj Fairchild and senior Ava Poutre are students from Harwood. Their styles are unique, and like everyone in Harwood, they have their fashion secrets.
I asked the following questions, and these were their answers.
What inspires you to dress up?
“Feeling good with myself and [getting] motivated for my day,” to “Personally, look good for me and other people and like to be “‘unique’ “….“junior Taj Fairchild answered.
What do you feel ?
“I feel comfortable, I wear what I want to wear,” said Poutre. Fairchild said, “I feel confident, outgoing, clean and fresh.”
What is your favorite brand?
“Well, I like second hand stores, American Eagles, and HIM,” while Fairchild said, “Carhartt , cargo and other types of clothes”
Where do you buy your clothes ? ”
Junior Ava Poutre said, “I usually buy my clothes in Burlington, in malls and on Church Street and online,” where she prefers “kind of, like baggy jeans, tops, shirts.” Fairchild prefers, “ different types of cargos… with different kinds of greens, or [I] use complementary colors that match my skin color.”
How would you feel if you had to wear a uniform?
“I think I might do it, but probably will get tired of it,” said Poutre, “I think it would be annoying.”
Fairchild was more direct: “No, I don’t like [it].”
What do clothes mean to you?
Clothes are “a way to express yourself without saying a word,” replied Poutre, and junior Taj Fairchild said, “personality and expression.”
What kind of clothes are you looking for in a store?
Poutre replied by saying “diversity; I like when there are many colors, and styles.”, Fairchield replied with, “my style, like when I’m in a store, I like to buy clothes that I know I’m gonna wear on any occasion…clothes that I really like.”
In three words how will you describe your style?
“Feminine, casual, gold,” said Poutre.
“Unique, good, swag,” said Fairchild.
The community of Harwood is rich in this number of students who represent themselves through their styles, demonstrating how unique they are in this world.
