This past February, ten Harwood Students traveled to Rwanda as part of Harwood’s travel studies program, to study the culture of Rwanda as well as experience a different way of living. Students from Harwood have been taking this trip for many years, and there are plans to return next year.
As part of the program, each student created a unique media piece based on their experiences in Rwanda, which were presented at The Zen Barn in Waterbury on May 13th. I chose to do my piece about a man who lives in the hills of Rwanda, teaching foreigners about the Rwandan people’s relationship to cows, and how they consider them an extension of their family.
