On Monday May 19, after the kick off assembly, every class came together to plan how they would organize Spirit Week in order to get everyone involved in this event that brings our community together. One of the activities that every class needed to do was decorate a designated hallway following their theme.
In this article, we will show and describe how the four highschool classes decorated their designated hallway, interview some of the students that participated in this competition, and explain the final decision the judges took.

Starting from the bottom, the freshmen had the math and science hallway. This class made sure to include elements related to “Tropical Vacation” which was their theme and included details such as fish, turtles, and other summer and ocean related items.
The sophomores had the English hallway whose decoration was inspired by their paparazzi theme.
“My class tried to have good hallway decorations but the fact that our assigned hallway was really big made it complicated,” said sophomore Camille Edgecomb “Also, I have heard that some freshmen messed with our decorations”.

The juniors decorated the hallway in front of the cafeteria with lots of garlands, LeBron pictures, and some of his most inspiring quotes.
“We started by painting the images that we had previously printed” Junior Isabella Scholz explained about the procedure “And meanwhile some other people were hanging some decorations”.
She also said that she thought everyone worked pretty hard on having a good hallway that represented their theme.

The seniors were in charge of Kate’s garden, which was decorated with Y2K inspiration and pictures of some big artists of that year like Britney Spears; there also were some CDs with seniors names and year of their graduation. Walking through this hallway made many students and staff feel like they were going back to the 2000’s.

Finally, during the Spirit Week assembly on Thursday, the results were announced. The judges explained that it was a hard decision to make, but that they decided that the winners were the seniors. In fourth place came sophomores; juniors got third place, and freshmen second place.
